Learning Neuroarchitecture Online: Lectures, Courses and Talks

Shifting Boundaries does not sell tickets, lectures or courses - this page is a guide to finding legitimate free and paid online learning in neuroarchitecture elsewhere, not a store.

Open conference recordings

ANFA and comparable research organizations periodically publish recordings of conference talks and keynotes on their own websites; see organizations and networks for links to the organizations themselves. Checking an organization's own site directly, rather than a third-party reseller, is the most reliable way to confirm a recording is genuine and current.

University and MOOC platforms

Several universities with architecture or environmental psychology programs post open lectures or short online courses through platforms such as edX and Coursera, or directly on their own department sites. Course availability changes frequently, so this page intentionally does not list specific course names or providers that may no longer be current; search a platform directly for "architecture psychology," "environmental psychology" or "neuroarchitecture" to find what is currently offered.

What to check before paying for an online course

  • Who is actually teaching it - a named instructor with a checkable academic or professional background, or an anonymous "expert"?
  • Is the syllabus specific about what will be covered, or vague ("transform how you think about space")?
  • Does the provider cite any of its claims to published research, or only to its own marketing copy?
  • Is there a reasonable refund or preview policy?

Free alternative: read the primary sources

Several of the ideas covered in online courses are directly available in the books and papers listed in the resources library, often at a public library or through a university's open-access repository, at no cost beyond the time to read them.
